I would suggest looking at Mondo Rescue. It will back up your O/S to a CD or DVD and in doing so makes it bootable. But that CD has rpm and things to install, whereas if you are going to create a rescue CD you probably want it to have your favourite apps. For example, I would like mc on it, my customized kernel, etc. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

What do you need it to do? The first installation CD has a rescue system on it, there's tomsrtbt, knoppix, ..... Dylan
