You really think this'll help? Do you also call people to tell them their phone is out of order?

Any idea when the next version of SuSE is supposed to be released? I know it's supposed to be at regular intervals, but I don't know when those intervals start or how long their duration is... Usually every six months. The last release was in late April, you do the math. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge

The "normal" cycle would put it at Oct. or Nov. Reportedly, there are MAJOR changes/improvements in the next release, so it could be a tad further down the road, as SUSE attempts to take a big bite out of MickySoft's desktop market. Thank heavens! I thought this idea was NEVER going to catch on ! We keep telling folks it aint nearly as hard to switch users to Suse ( or most other boxed distros.) Here's your email, there is your browser, and that is your office product, or whatever part of it is needed..) After that no one cares.. as long as there are ways to do the job easily ;-) after all no one wants to have to relearn what they think they know already. We'll start with beta1 next week, so expect something in the shops by October. I have tried on my own and have had someone else propose me as a SuSE beta tester previously, but both attempts have proved fruitless. I have the spare hardware and have been a SuSE user for years. No problems with Mandrake/Mandriva on the other hand as they seem to regard the widest amount of testing to be of benefit to them. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... Do you have some benchmarks? Let's try them with the 10.0 betas as well and if it's reproduceable, then tell us. I'm not aware of significant changes from our side that are responsible for this - so I would try the Linus kernel as well.
