I think when you set up the printer you should check the box marked "correct stairstep effect."
Isn't this option available when you install the printer? I know it is in Caldera and Mandrake, and I thought it was in SuSE too, but maybe I'm just getting it mixed up with the others. ************************************ Powered by SuSE Linux 6.4 KMail 1.0.28 Bryan S. I have an HP OfficeJet 600, and had the same problems with staircasing. The solution for me was to use the "ascii" printer instead of "raw". "ascii" is smart enough to translate the LF to a CR/LF. Actually, I think it translates text to postscript. By default, "ascii" printed a box around the text. I changed this by editing /etc/apsfilterrc.y2prn_lp.upp. Change the line for A2PS_OPTS to read: A2PS_OPTS="--borders=no --font-size=12.0 --no-header -1" -- Robert Wohlfarth rjwohlfar@bigfoot.com "My theory's right.
