Since I run 11.1 I guess I should just update my current version to 11.2. I do hope 11.2 will come out with all the drivers for wireless cards still being manufactured... From experience, 11.1 originally was fine but the recent kernel updates have missed some wireless components. Thank you, Maura --- Gio 5/11/09, Anders Norrbring <lists@norrbring.se> ha scritto:

I too have noticed problems with the recent kernels, things that would work fine under the kernel shipped with 11.1 would be broken by a later updated kernel, which isn't the fault of the distro, unless they are packaging their own kernels. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Each Linux vendor ships an "own" kernel. Cause Linux kernel or Open Source Software (OSS) developers in general are paid by them. And therefore e.g. customers get some fixes earlier with Fedora while others get a fix earlier with openSUSE. But at the end all real code fixes will find the way upstream as we're all dedicated to Open Source Software. You know which kernel you need and you know better what to do and you need vanilla pain? Go and install the kernel-vanilla package. ;) Have a lot of vanilla fun... Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany

No thanks I had enough PAE fun, the things that broke on 11.1 also broke in the other distros that I'm running, and right after a kernel update as well, hence my faulty assumption. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I see that 11.3 is already listed in bugzilla so it must be 11.3 Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
