I need to port xwindows programs to a mswindows box. And I already know about vncserver - that won't work for our setup. thanks joe baptista Joe Baptista - only at www.baptista.god "Don't believe anything! We will chase the rascals back to London!" ... As has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, the "client" vs. "server" notation is usually backwards from what most [sane?] people expect, so I take it that what you want is an X window system "server" that runs on MS-windows yet displays output of process(es) running on a unix/linux server elsewhere on the network. At Networld+Interop in Vegas this week, I found a small booth tucked away at the side of the building featuring a product from a company called "Starnet" that is indeed a "windows" X-window system server. It isn't "free", but it is (more) reasonable (than, say, WRQ's X-server) -- I believe he mentioned a price of $90 or so (last I recall, WRQ's product was in the $400 neighborhood...) a three-month trial can be found at www.starnet.com -- mind you, other than seeing it "working" on [presumably] a microsoft windows system, I have no actual experience with the product -- it is just one of those serendipodous coincidences that I saw this product AND your post within 24 hours of each other... - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+suD4V/YHUqq2SwsRAiULAJkBk0f0CozIrLRQU9JKMArcH1bMlgCgiKEC u9UApIKpKYBhdR0ci/mZd4A= =QWpt -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
