[opensuse] recommendation for wording, title of linux expert who can put linux to practical use
Off-topic it may seems, a friend of mine is looking for recommendation of his business title to English, but I do not know any better place to get such recommendations than this list. He works for getting Linux to practical use. This is quiet different than writing software on Linux, because he has to focus on business issue like evaluation, compatibility issue, training, workflow design and optimization, more than focusing on software. Such job also require a big portfolio of Linux products in mind to assist the usage. For example, making Linux used in publication business would involve using multiple Linux software: desktop publishing, RIPping, postscript processing, image setting, retouching photos, illustration making, copy editing etc. He does not need to be able to write any software but knows how to get them used in reality, and not specific to make best use of a single product used but in general make use of multiple software on Linux. He also needs to be able to tell difficulty or benefit of Linux usage in given context. I would say Linux Implementation Professional, but that sounds as if he is expert to implement things on Linux, e.g. port CounterStrike to Linux, and his implementation is different from the software design concept implementation, for example, the implementation in "object implementations interfaces" or "POSIX implementation on Windows". I also would invent phrases like Linux Utilization Expert or Linux Use Case Analyst, or Linux Use Professional, which sounds strange to me (i am a "Linux-using" professional). What would you use? I also try to avoid Linux advocate because that assume the person holds a Linux stand, which in fact he should stand with customer requirement, at least try to do so. Same as if you prefer to say SAP Professional instead of SAP Advocator when you want to do business. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
