When updating via YOU the download stops at 22% in the "connection and data transfer" which is the first part of the download. The update stops at harden_suse_1. So I tought this is a problem with the that particular update. It seems not I think, after investigating the directory: /var/lib/YaST/patches/i386/update/7.2/patches, it appeared that the update file for harden_suse_1 is there and contains updated information in it (1076 B). The next file postfix-1 appeared to be 0 bytes, so I concluded that postfix-1 is the causing the error. I made it file: postfix-1.20011015.installed That seems to have effect, but now the download stops at 24% which is at the next file: perl-Cyrus-SIEVE-managesieve-1.20011015.new. The next file to be processed is now again, the postfix-1 file.... This is all in automatic mode and connected to ftp.suse.com, Ah just checked in manual there is the same problem.... How to proceed... I would like to be able to use YOU again :((( -- Richard

Perhaps here: http://www.suse.com/us/support/download/ftp/int_mirrors.html The FAQ link in the ezmlm signature is out of date, by the way. :) ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I too have a dial-up connection and always select 'Manual Update' method and
'Expert' to select my preferred (closest most reliable) mirror. Choosing
manual gives you the opportunity to select which updates to download and
install - I just download a few at a time. Also, try and avoid busy periods.
