Hello all I've bought a PackardBell igo3000 series (laptop) and i have problems with installation. I've already tried to install SuSE 7.3/8 on this laptop but without success. On SuSE 8 Professional i can continue the installation only if i load the pcmcia modules through yast-manual installation etc, when i am doing this the installation procedure continues without a problem. The problem starts a few minutes later when the system is trying to configure the hardware. From this step i can see a bourne shell only if i start the installation again from the beggining (manual install) and choose first of all to load the pcmcia modules(if i don't do this the system freezes) and then rescue system. On the rescue mode i moved out of /etc/rc.d/ 2 scripts that had problems on load (pcmcia, hotplugg) and i now i can log on into the system but ofcourse without X Server. After all this i tryied a different distribution (Mandrake 9.1 beta3 -kernel 2.4.21pre3 etc) and the system works. The graphic card is recognized only as vesa 1024X768 16bit. The problem is that this distribution is beta and i don't wont to use it.I prefer SuSE for many reasons.... The Graphic card has the chipset ATI IGP i320m I made a extended search on internet about this notebook and i didn't find anything, also i read some how-to about loading kernel modules but i didn't find anything. Finally i tried to pass some command such linux 1 init=/bin/bus but nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks
