Just completed reloading Suse 9.2 on an IBM ThinkPad 600X thinking that I had done something wrong the first time but still a blank screen when booting into a user KDE desktop. YaST displays OK during the final setup phase but then the screen goes blank in normal user mode. I ran the Automatic Repair app and it flagged and fixed a couple of unrelated items. Anyone have any idea where I start looking? Thanks! dmc -- ___________________________________________________________ Sign-up for Ads Free at Mail.com http://promo.mail.com/adsfreejump.htm

Looks to me like an XF86Config problem (or whatever the successor is to that in suse 9.2). One way to explore the problem is to boot into mode 3 (just type 3 at the boot prompt) and then, when you log in from a text console, type sax2. An alternative, if that doesn't work, is xf86config. I'm struggling with laptop video problems myself, though I've never gotten a blank screen. Paul
