[opensuse] Hidden files???
How the @#$@#@ heck do you view hidden files in KDE4 on 12.1 RC1? In earlier versions, it was a simple thing to enable viewing hidden files. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Are you talking about viewing files that start with a dot, using the dolphin file manager? If so, simply click on the wrench and select "show hidden files" Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Or as an alternative press [ALT]. (the alt key and the dot key) in dolphin. Btw I prefer krusader as gui file browser. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I've been using Konqueror for years and last night I couldn't find that setting under View. I might have been in the "Web Browser" mode, but I can't check that at the moment, as Konqueror (Web Browser) has disappeared from my menu. (in 12.1 beta RC1). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I loaded the Web Browser profile and found it doesn't have the hidden files setting. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It does actually, as soon as you view a folder with it. On the web, there is no such thing as "hidden files", so why would the setting be there when you are viewing web pages? why are you posting factory questions to opensuse and why are you cross-posting? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Whether I'm in KDE or not, most of my file viewing, and file listing viewing, is in MC, which in KDE I run in Konsole. I don't think MC knows anything about hiding anything from its users, at least not by default. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Dolphin: View->Show Hidden Files In 4.7 the menu bar has by default become hidden under a wrench icon, like in Chromium. Show Hidden Files is in the wrench menu, or you can get the regular menus back with ctrl-m. Konqueror: View->Show Hidden Files Was that what you were asking? The colourful ascii symbols imply it was a harder problem. Last night I looked and didn't see that. Now I do. However, this is a beta of 12.1 and I've noticed some other flakey things. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
