I have SUSE 9.3 and KDE 3.4.0 level b. lately I've been having a problem with email. My ISP email seems to get stuck, and when I do a : ps -ef|grep kmail I get many lines of entries. Like this: pbc@linux:~> ps -ef|grep kmail|grep pbc pbc 10634 1 0 Jul05 ? 00:04:13 kmail -caption KMail -icon kmail -miniicon kmail pbc 7821 7468 0 19:01 ? 00:00:00 kio_pop3 [kdeinit] kio_pop3 pop3 /tmp/ksocket-pbc/klaunchernOJawb.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-pbc/kmailhHjzia.slave-socket pbc 8552 7468 0 20:27 ? 00:00:00 kio_pop3 [kdeinit] kio_pop3 pop3 /tmp/ksocket-pbc/klaunchernOJawb.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-pbc/kmailvFSn4a.slave-socket pbc 8639 7468 0 20:38 ? 00:00:00 kio_smtp [kdeinit] kio_smtp smtp /tmp/ksocket-pbc/klaunchernOJawb.slave-socket /tmp/ksocket-pbc/kmailH9Dndc.slave-socket sometimes my email keeps asking for a password, when I have it always saved. sometimes the mail doesn't come in from my ISP even though I have it check every 8 minutes. sometimes this socket-pbc entries multiply and there are 5 or more of them. Any ideas? I have kwallet turned off, and kmail saves the passwords internally, yet sometimes the tools- kmail setup doesn't show the check marks for storing the password. -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux user # 367800 X-Request-PGP: http://home.comcast.net/~p.cartwright/wsb/key.asc
