Hi, I would like to know if anyone is running a Logitech optical usb wheel mouse using SuSE 7.2 personal edition. As a last resort I reinstalled 7.2 and it will just not accept my mouse so I wanted to know if I'm just spinning my wheels (no pun intended) with this thing. I'm using the Logitech Mouseman+ Optical/Cordless (as a PS2 mouse) on SuSE 7.2 Professional, without any problems. Everything but the thumb button works, which is fine by me, as I'd probably press it accidentally anyways :) Let me know if you need the mouse device section from XF86Config. Just bought a Logitech optical wheelmouse as direct replacement for Microsoft Intellimouse. Although a USB device it also has a PS2 adaptor, which I used. No problems. You should be able to get it working as a USB mouse too - the following modules are required: input.o mousedev.o keybdev.o usbcore.o usb-uhci.o or usb-ohci.o (I've posted on this before or see KDE Control Centre) hid.o M
It's probably your motherboard. Use the USB adapter that comes with the mouse and you should be fine. On Sunday 02 September 2001 11:03 am, Ron White wrote:

Hi; I'm using a microsoft optical intellimouse with no problems (although I have got it connected to the mouse port rather than the usb port so that might be your problem). On Sunday 02 September 2001 16:03, Ron White wrote:

I am using a Logitech optical USB mouse, set up as a PS2 mouse. The wheel doesn't work, but then I have never managed to get the wheel to work on any type of mouse under Linux yet. Arthur On Sunday 02 September 2001 16:03, Ron White wrote:

Here is the X4.x section for the mouse: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0" # Modified by mouseconfig Driver "mouse" Option "Device" "/dev/mouse" Option "Protocol" "MouseManPlusPS/2" Option "Emulate3Buttons" "no" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" EndSection The line "ZAxisMapping" is what enables the mouse wheel. Thanks, I'll try that. BTW my mouse is in the USB port - I didn't have to use the PS2 converter (don't really know where it's got to in fact :-) ) Arthur On Sunday 02 September 2001 19:57, Steven Hatfield wrote:

Regards, Ron -------------------------- Hey Ron, I use the Logitech optical USB wheel mouse on my SuSE 7.2 setup. I do use the adapter for PS/2, but it works just fine on the USB also, I just never took the time to change it after I got the USB configured. Not broke, don't fix it kinda thing. My wheel button works great also! As a third button and a wheel as well, I am very
