[opensuse] CPU utilisation on P4 HT on large copy of files using Konqueror to NFS drive
What a mouthful of a title. I regularly backup - simple copy and paste using Konqueror over an NFS Drive. Just out of interest I opened x osview (System Monitor) to watch the HT performance of the CPU CPU0 was basically sitting on 100% but CPU0 was steady at 0%. I then used Konqueror as a Browser and both (*HT) CPU were utilised approx the same. I then performed a local large copy of files on same partition of HDD and like the browser application both CPUs were utilised approx the same. Known Possible variables - NIL SWAP File used ever - Constant available approx 300MB Physical memory -Net Load was nominal -Confirmed by nil collision on H-W -Ethernet 100 KBPS is utilised Can someone with an HT CPU confirm my findings and if possible if you have an application running over a NFS drive confirm CPU0 is basically idle. Now if confirmed - Do I log it as an Kernel bug, KDE bug - perhaps some one can assist with a native copy from O/S across NFS Drive. I would be very grateful for assistance and guidance here so I don't make a fool out of myself in a Kernel Bug Report. Thanks to all Scott =-O
