Afternoon, Does it matter which version of PHP I set up for Squirrelmail? I read that Squirrelmail is written in PHP4. Will it work with PHP5? Are there any advantages/disadvantages to either? TIA -- Jim Flanagan linuxjim at jjfiii.co

I don't know about squirrelmail specifically, but my ongoing problem with PHP is that the developers think that backward compatability is for other people. I stopped trying to use it after the third revision of PHP required me to write the third revision of the app. I wouldn't bet a lot on any PHP app working under a given version of PHP but the one it was written to. It might, but I wouldn't bet a lot. Mike- -- Mornings: Evolution in action. Thanks Mike. I'm haveing a few problems with PHP5, but it might be a ./configure thing. I see the squirrelmail login screen, and the login seems to work fine but after login all is blank. I'll keep working on that. If that dosen't resolve the prob, I'll try reverting to PHP4. Thanks for the heads up. -- Jim Flanagan linuxjim at jjfiii.co
