You could try IE and WMP6.4 under WINE. If you start up winetools, there is a handy little GUI applet that you can use to install IE6 and WMP6.4. I dont' know if it will actually work though... didn't try it myself. C.

I don't know if the ability to play mms format would suffice, it seems registration is necessary. In firefox about:config Right click --> New String [network.protocol-handler.mms] for the name and point to kaffeine or mplayer for the value. Anoher new string [netowrk.protocol-handler.warn-external.mms] for the name and value set to "false". The stuff inside the square brackets, ignore the brackets themselves. Worth a try.
