Hello, Has somebody succeeded in using the "Apple Personal Laserprinter LS" or the "NeXT Laserprinter" with (SuSE) Linux? Andreas -- Prof. Dr. Andreas J. Hmm, both sound suspiciously like PostScript Printers. ShouldnŽt be a big problem then, if they have a regular parallel port or can be connected via a TCP network connection. If they are serial only -like the old Apple Laserwriter II, it's still possible. Possible but tricky. Had one of these ages ago. If I am lucky, I might have some old notes about that. Let me know, Andreas! None of them are postscript, both depend on page rendering on the attached computer. Te "Apple Personal Laserprinter LS" (ancient but not quite as old as the "Apple Laserwriter II" is a serial only printer. It seems that the "NeXT Laserprinter" is also a serial printer, but it didn't use any of the serial ports on the NeXT but a special "printer" port with a D-9 plug. The pins are: LP CLK, LP DATA IN, LP DATA OUT1, LP DATA OUT2, LP PWR ENABLE, GND, GND, GND, NC. If I could get your old notes, I might be a first step in the right direction. (Although the Apple Laserwriter II was a postscript printer as far as I recall.) Andreas -- Prof. Dr. Andreas J.
