Perhaps he means you can only run it 17 times. The 18th time you try to run it, it fails. Or, as you say, because its an ambiguous phrasing, perhaps that's not what he meant. But it would be an interesting type of error, eh? -- "The top line is the value you give. The bottom line is the value you get. Well that might also mean 17 skype process exists in top etc. Regards, ismail -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Regards, ismail If top shows 17 "skype" processes, most likely someone pressed "H", and top is showing threads.
For example, "ps -efL | grep skype | wc -l" returns 11 on my notebook when skype is idle. -- Regards, Vadym -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Probably because you started it 17 times :-) Here (opensuse 10.2, Skype Beta Version 2.1.0.81) skype opens a new instance everytime I click on the skype icon on the desktop or start it from the menu. Once started it remains in the system bar at the bottom, even if you close the window. If you really want to terminate it, you have to right click on this icon and close it. Or leave it there and just click on it when you want to hae the window on the screen. Just don't use the desktop-icon/menu if you already have it open in the system bar. hth Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com my new blog: http://www.guapamania.com/wordpress/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

specially if you set openSUSE to restore the previous session. if you shut down with a bunch of skype instances open, they'll probably all start again the next time you start openSUSE. because of this, i usually start openSUSE with a blank session, not opening whatever was open the last time. if you forget to close something before shutting down, this will come up the next time. (you find this setting in systemsettings -> system administration -> startup and shutdown -> session management.) -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
