Help I can't get any version of gnucash to run on my SuSE 6.4 box... I tried everything, rpm's (for suse) versions 1.4.1 1.4.3 1.4.9, the source rpm's for those versions, and the tar.gz files (even for 1.2.5)... nothing works... I checked dependencies. I run SuSE 6.4, kernel 2.2.14 with KDE2.0 on a pentium 200MMX - 96 MB RAM. Any ideas, I'm about to give up on it... Or any suggestions for a package like gnucash... Thanks! Guy
I tried GNUcash for a while. It was ok. I settled on Moneydance..I even paid the $25 to register it. It has worked flawless for the last 4 months that I have been using it. I am looking into Kapital by thekompany..that looks kickass. But for now Moneydance rocks my socks. BTW..GNUcash is included and works well with 7.1...just as an FYI. * Guy Van Sanden (sienix@crosswinds.net) [010221 23:54]: =>Help => =>I can't get any version of gnucash to run on my SuSE 6.4 box... => =>I tried everything, rpm's (for suse) versions 1.4.1 1.4.3 1.4.9, the =>source rpm's for those versions, and the tar.gz files (even for =>1.2.5)... nothing works... I had the exact same experience, but I've been using MoneyDance for over a year. Very nice app JLK On Thursday 22 February 2001 01:59, Ben Rosenberg wrote:

Does moneydance or gnucash apps let you pay your bills online?
Not MoneyDance 2.04, the last shareware version, but I understand that the new commerical version does/will allow it. JLK

Hi Mark,
Does moneydance or gnucash apps let you pay your bills online?
If they don't, you might go take a glance at theKompany.com's new commercial money program (Kapitol), which may do that for you. As you may guess by the name, Kapitol is a KDE-centric program, although it will run in GNOME I hear. -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. I have gnucash working on my suse 6.3 P133 computer. I downloaded the tgz Gtk+ version because I couldn't get the LeesTiff one to work (I think the LessTif is no more developped). To have it working I had to download some scripts in python (in think, I'm not in front of my computer) that were missing but every thing else was ok as far as I can remember. I had to put these scripts in a location where gnucash was looking for and where there was only one installed by the make install. All the needed libs are explained in the README (or Install ) file. Look for some scripting language package, something is not fully installed there. Gnucash is good but the graphics are poor.(not a big problem) Hope it can help Yann Guy Van Sanden a écrit :
