Hello All, It has been a while since I installed SuSE via FTP. I am assuming that there are no ISO images available for this installation. Can someone provide me a link or instructions on how to get this OS on my machine? Thanks in advance, .:Thinker
There is an ISO for boot CD, then use that bootcd to point to ftp site.... B-) On Friday 04 June 2004 12:01 pm, Thinker wrote:

Yes you can create the five Floppies, you'll find them in the boot directory, download them and write them to floppies, put the first boot diskette into the drive and reboot the system, follow the prompts, and swap floppies as needed. Mike

I haven't tried an FTP install 9.1, but with 9.0 if you are using an ADSL service with a PPPoE type of connection, you are out of luck here as the installation does not provide for dialling your ISP. Your only solution may be to download the entire distro and install from a hard disk, alternatively buy the 9.1 Personal CD and upgrade to your desired level using the FTP servers. Steve

I would not really recommend that you do an FTP install with dial up. You are talking about a minimum of hundreds of Megs, which translates into many hours. I took a day or two to download the ftp version of 9.1 and I'm using aDSL. Perhaps a box set, personal, and then using apt to install other functionality would be a better way to go. Mike

I used this link when I installed 9.0 http://www.usalug.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=8161 I would think with just a few tweaks, it can be used to get 9.1 Rob
