The problem is company internal, then. I feer you have to swallow it, without trying to make it become the problems of your correspondents...

I'm not sure there is much you will be able to do about it, basically because Exchange is crap. Our server creates attachments when it can't figure something out. Note that this can be as simple as not recognising a character or a character set. Some messages from this list are dumped into a text attachment entirely (including header) others get cut up and "attached" together. It has a special problem when it runs across things like monetary symbols, it cuts everything from the symbol on and puts it in a text attachment. At first I thought it was my Outhouse 98 client so I tried others with the same result. The attachments, by the way, are perfectly legible in any of my text editors, so I have no idea why exchange would have such a problem.
