This is a ~2TB partiton on a 3TB 3ware raid array. This is/was a working partition (about 60% free) that was fine untill I tried to install opensuse 11b1 on some other partition on another raid array unsuccessfully.

Well, I deleted my reiser partition and re-created a new one (in yast - and did not format) large enough to hold the data on my partition before this problem occurred. I then was able to run reiserfsck and repair the super block and all my data was recovered. Make sure you have your partition data printed to paper and safely stored somewhere. Enoguh data to recreate the tables if damaged. And your layout is complicated, I don't understand your setup. Keeps backups. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. nice. however I think you setup is very complicated. You should at least write down (on paper) all the details, just in case. If I understood it correctly you seams to have at least two raid array on the same computer. given th prise of such array I personnally whould prefere to have one computer with each array (possibly networked with gigabit) I know (it's enough to read here) that raid are problem prone - however I have no personal experience about them I would like to have info of the layout of MBR/partition of such system (for update of my HOWTO) thanks jdd -- Jean-Daniel Dodin Président du CULTe www.culte.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
