I can ping both my ip and the remote ip, but nothing beyond that. I then tried wvdial and presto it all works fine. I had a look at my log files and found this when I use kppp. ---cut--- Dec 16 23:26:11 fsck pppd[1779]: not replacing default route to eth0 [***.***.***.***] Dec 16 23:26:11 fsck pppd[1779]: local IP address 155.239.150.37 Dec 16 23:26:11 fsck pppd[1779]: remote IP address 155.239.150.254 ---cut--- However, when I use wvdial, I get this. ---cut--- Dec 18 08:34:33 fsck pppd[233]: replacing old default route to eth0 [***.***.***.***] Dec 18 08:34:33 fsck pppd[233]: local IP address 155.239.146.26 Dec 18 08:34:33 fsck pppd[233]: remote IP address 155.239.146.254 ---cut--- eth0 is the gateway ip for my pc. Routing seems to be the problem here, but why? Why does it keep routing through the eth0 device and not the ppp device? I changed the options in kppp to so many different combinations, yet nothing helps. Any comments/hints welcome. -- l8r ./Jasper " If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you!
