I concur with Christopher.
Sadly, I don't. If this list were forked into multiple segments, one would have to subscribe to all of them to get the benefits we enjoy as one list. Then, not only do users have to think about which list they post to, but volunteers have to monitor the traffic to ensure that the user posts to the proper list for his/her question. This leads to time issues as well as traffic issues, and I can't recall the number of messages with URGENT in the subject or body since I joined over a year ago. This is not acceptable, either.
Yes, at current levels I'm finding it fairly easy to keep up with this list along with others. As long as people use appropriate subjects then it's not all that necessary to use different lists for different subjects. Good point Greg, anything that has the subject line "HELP!" gets automatically chewed by my filter. It would be better reworded "Help: Netscape pre6 core dump on 2.2.13 x86 kernel!"
