SuSE 7.2 && 40 GB drive and LILO issue
Hi, everyone. I've run into a brick wall here. Just got a new Maxtor 40 GB drive and am trying to install 7.2 on it. When I get through the setup, I try to reboot and get LIL- I started with one giant ReiserFS partition, that didn't work. Tried breaking it up to smaller partition, mixed ext2 and Reiser, same problem. I've even tried to put a second, smaller HD in and use that as the boot-disk (1.2 GB, with a swap, 20 MB ext2 /boot and a ext2 /root partition. Still no joy. Anyone offer suggestions, please? Best, Geordon

Make sure that the BIOS has the disk in LBA mode. You'll need to erase and re-create your partition table after changing this in the BIOS settings. -- ------------------------------------------------------------ "I don't mind Microsoft making money. I had this problem too, in the end I upgraded the motherboard bios to the
latest version and everything worked fine.........
