Hi,
I trying to connect to a windows (98) machine using dialup. I have finally
managed to get my linux machine to start a conversation with the windows
machine, however it stalls trying to authentication. It seems (I also read
somewhere) that microsoft has a variation of the chap protocol. Does SUSE
have a patched version of ppp that supports this (apparently it, or the
patches are available), or do I have to download the source a build it.

I connect to my ISP with the latest version of kppp and use various browsers (Netscape 4.76, Netscape 6, Opera, StarOffice, ... ). However, only Netscape 4.76 will find internet addresses (other than localhost) correctly if I start it before I start kppp. Can anyone suggest how to get at least opera and Netscape 6 to function the same way please?
