I messed something up on my 10.1 laptop. I changed the default behavior for .jpg files to open with KView instead of whatever the default was. Somehow I now can no longer preview jpg images. Prior to this, I would be able to see a small thumbnail of .jpg files in konqueror. Also, when I mouse over them, the thumbnail is enlarged. Now - for JPG files only - I see a picture-type icon. I still see a preview for other image files such as png or gif. What do I fix? -- Kai Ponte www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com remember - a turn signal is a statement, not a request

It sounds like you've updated qt with a version that wasn't compiled with jpeg support Which KDE/Qt packages have you installed?

Interesting...
Which KDE/Qt packages have you installed?
A ton! Looking through the list to find something relevant, I see I have a locked version o flibkipi - KDE Image Plug-in Interface. I'm on 0.1.4-0.pm.1 right now. (That's a very scary numbering scheme.) Was there something specific you might suggest I look for? TIA! -- k

Normally it's an issue with how qt is built, so that would be the first point of interest: which qt version are you using and where did you get it from In general, I was wondering which installation repository you got your kde/qt packages from The packages in the opensuse build service (previously known as 'supplementary') have historically suffered from issues like this from time to time
