Suse 9.1 pro on a compaq presario 3077wm
I have been trying without sucess to install Suse 9.1 pro on my laptop, a Compaq Presario 3077wm, Pent 4, 512 meg ram, 40 gig hd duel booting with winxp. I have both cd's and the DVD. Everything starts out fine but after around 11 %, it slows down and the est. time remaining goes to 2:00:00 and stays there. One time I tried the DVD and after 8 hours it was at 29% finished. It does the same with the cd's. Right now I am doing a minimal install with the dvd and it has been 6.5 hours and is at 48% I have tried all the different settings and it still does the same thing. I have no problem putting Debian or mandrake on this laptop. I have used the same DVD on my desktop and it installs fine. Anyone have any ideas? Walt

Just one, is the laptop plugged in to a power outlet? Perhaps it's some power saving thing to save batteries.

Yeah it is plugged in, I do not install any software just using the battery. Walt
