[opensuse] new flash update doesn't work at all
I have noted that others have commented on this in one form or another. I guess because I am not sure that this experience is exactly the same as others so I decided to start a new thread. Simply put, on doing the update I can no longer view any video (or hear any audio) from any website using any browser. If I download the files I can both view and hear them using a media player. If I try to run flashplayer from the command line I get the following error message: "WARNING: environment variable G_FILENAME_ENCODING set and it is not UTF-8 Illegal instruction" However, if I revert to an ealier verson, say 11.1 everything works okay. None of the earlier 11.2 versions work. As flash doesn't seem to work in the updates, I do not have the option to change any settings. So I feel I am forced to use one of the earlier buggy versions, unless someone can come up with a suggestion. I am running a 32-bit system and using a radeon 9200 pro graphics card. Opensuse 12.1 KDE 4.7 (have tried 4.8 but have the same and other problems so have reverted to 4.7) Thanks for any suggestions Eddie -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
