[OT - a bit ] Apache ignores .htaccess
Hello all: I've got a few directories in my website that have working .htaccess files and the directory is properly protected by a login and password. This means that Apache is using the .htaccess file in the directory. However, I recently went to protect a directory using a .htaccess file as I've done in the past and Apache appears to be ignoring it. I have a proper htpasswd password file and here is the .htaccess file. AuthType Basic AuthName "Hanggliding Test Material" AuthUserFile /srv/www/passwordfile <Limit GET POST> require valid-user </Limit> Previously to get this to work, I have to modify this section of httpd.conf: # # This controls which options the .htaccess files in directories can # override. Can also be "All", or any combination of "Options", "FileInfo", # "AuthConfig", and "Limit" # AllowOverride None I changed None to All But this broke my webmail client. Any ideas what I can do to track down the problem? Thanks a ton, Jim
