Re: [SuSE Linux] KDE setup
did you check to make sure you set up cd, floppy, and zip in your /etc/fstab file? i'm at the stage of mucking about, but i had to edit the /etc/fstab file to get my icons to mount properly. hope that solves your problem. -derek -----Original Message----- From: Francis Pressland <fpress@koan.de> To: suse-linux-e@suse.com <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: Wednesday, November 18, 1998 5:07 PM Subject: [SuSE Linux] KDE setup
Hi!
I am using SusSE 5.3, and have KWM as my windows manager. I have tried (as a user) to use the device icons in the templates folder to setup zip, cdrom and floppy icons on the desktop to mount and unmount the devices. I have tried to change the ownership and give rwx permissions after making the icons as root.. I then copied the results to Desktop folder in my /home/user dir. I tried to use the templates as a user, but couldn't adjust the properties or even supply mount points for them.
Any help gratefully received.
BTW I had Redhat set up with KDE 1.00 and didn't have this access problem, so I assume it is some kind of access setup in Suse, hence my posting in ths list.
Thanks
Francis
