I would suggest contacting both HP and Epson as they do support Linux.
I bought a Canon document scanner because the HP one I wanted wasn't supported at all under Linux.

Yeah, but who wrote the Canon driver software? Certainly not Canon I'll bet :-( I just try to push companies who actually, actively support Linux. At least HP and Epson do even if it isn't completely. I got short shrift from Canon when I asked about the possibility of supporting Linux :-(((( Sad, because they sell some fantastic hardware. -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== Take care. Me too. :-/ I have a Canon printer I bought years ago, and it is the last thing I'll ever buy from them, till they support Linux, or at least release specs and needed info for free developers to support them. Even if I'm going to use it in windows, I will not buy. And I recommend anybody asking not to buy, with my reasons - even for windows (if a piece of hardware works in Linux I know that other developers can make software for it. If it doesn't, it will only work in windows while the company makes drivers). If enough people had this attitude, companies would take Linux seriously. Yes, once I inquired to Canon about Linux support for my Canon scanner and received a complete blowoff. I like their hardware too, but I switched to Epson for my scanners and I told Canon why. I have been very happy with my Epson scanners. Bryan Well it looks like everyone doesn't like Canon :)
Any suggestions for a Multi function printer/scanner that also prints cds then? They are not exactly thick on the ground. Cheers , Glenn

HP does the best job.....some from Epson are good. Check SUSE hardware list for SUSE 10.0 (really SHOULD upgrade!) first, BEFORE you buy. Fred -- Planet Earth - a subsidiary of Microsoft. We have no bugs in our software, Never! We do have undocumented added features, that you will find amusing, at no added cost to you, at this time.
Ok Thanks guys I'll go investigate a bit more. cheers, Glenn

You (should) only buy something that is usable in _your_ environment.
