Hey Group; This type of error comes from every file.php program. Like phpMyAdmin, timesheet and blogcms. All of them are in /srv/www/htdocs/. php modules are defined in /etc/apache2 by Yast2 and it has been restarted lots of times. OS: SuSE 10 Beta 4 modules: php4-mysql-4.4.0-5 mod_php4-core-4.4.0-5, apache2-mod_php4-4.4.0-5 pcre-devel-6.2-2 pcre-6.2-2 Error (sample) Warning: preg_match: internal pcre_fullinfo() error -3 in /srv/www/htdocs/phpMyAdmin/libraries/defines.lib.php on line 36 Anyone have an idea? Could it be coming from a modules conflict. -- 73 de Donn Washburn Hpage:" http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB Email: " n5xwb@hal-pc.org " 307 Savoy St. HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador LL# 1.281.242.3256 " http://counter.li.org " #279316
G'day, list. Here's my current issue: at the moment, I'm using a "drive box" holding several IDE HDs with interface cards that let them be interfaced to via FireWire. I've been using one as the primary, and the second as backup, on my XP box, with a daily scheduled xcopy batchfile. Now, as I continue my migration from Windows to Linux, I *could* just duplicate this same process with rsync, but... I'm curious about RAID. I understand the general idea of how RAID operates, but have absolutely *no* background in it. So what I'd like to find is a good guide, maybe even a full-size book, designed to take a user from Utter Ignorance to Moderately Competent in setting up, running, and recovering RAID. An Admin-level guide is probably too much, but I need something better than a pre-digested "push this button, push that button" flowchart -- in order to really absorb what I'm trying to learn, I need something that explains a reasonable amount of the *why* behind each step. I also need something that explains the differences between different RAID types and can help me figure out which is best for my purposes. (and, of course, the whole thing should be applicable to SuSE -- but that should go w/o saying, eh? :) ) So, does anyone have any recommendations?

You have several howtos in the distro: cer@nimrodel:~> ls /usr/share/doc/howto/en/txt/ | grep -i raid ATA-RAID-HOWTO.gz Antares-RAID-sparcLinux-HOWTO.gz Boot+Root+Raid+LILO.gz DPT-Hardware-RAID-HOWTO.gz Linux-Promise-RAID1-HOWTO.gz Root-RAID-HOWTO.gz Software-RAID-0.4x-HOWTO.gz Software-RAID-HOWTO.gz And some of them also in html version. Start with Software-RAID-HOWTO.gz, or "/usr/share/doc/howto/en/html/Software-RAID-HOWTO.html". - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDaYRatTMYHG2NR9URAi7KAJsHWAwga4AQYu0qp3gwlOrG4QGOzgCfWjsn Nv2/M00MK5hFCePTsf4QQKE= =pThY -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
