[opensuse] Akonadi, Nepomuk etc.
Sorry if I have perhaps overslept email with regard to above two programs but after my last update (love zypper) I have Akonadi server which is protesting that it will not run and Nepomuk which is also complaining. Wanted to add an address to my kmail address book and got the info that as Akonadi is not working an addition to my address book is not possible. Nothing against a new play thing but it should at least work without much ado. I looked into userbasekde.org/Akonadi and had the impression that the whole Akonadi is still full with problems. Does it make sense to start repairing or should I just start using kmail 4.1.3 (I think it is) in order to get my old functions back? -- Powered by openSUSE 11.1 (i586) Kernel: 2.6.27.39-0.2-default KDE: 4.3.80 (KDE 4.3.80 (KDE 4.4 Beta1)) "release 197" 11:55pm up 0:32, 2 users, load average: 0.75, 0.84, 1.10 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I would downgrade to 4.3.4 unless you want to go through a lot of testing. The repo I have is this one and k-mail works fine: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE%3a/43/openSUSE_11.2/ L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I've been updating from Factory and get the same issues but that is to be expected as its under development. I update every day and now I still get the same "it wont work errors" but i can now see/edit my contacts which i couldn't do earlier in the week. Keep updating and ignore the errors. One thing though, i'd like to find out how you migrate the newly formatted data in akonadi/nepomuk format back to standard maildir format. There is an akonadi tool in systemsettings where you can get error messages and protocols. They might give you a hint as to what is missing.

If you want a stable system use stable repos, i.e. http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/KDE4#STABLE_KDE_Project_.28KDE_4.3.4.29 Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ah. I suggested this one: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE%3a/43/openSUSE_11.2/ Are they the same? L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not exactly. 43 contains a newer amarok version for example which those that use STABLE can get from Backports. Apart from that they both contain KDE 4.3.4 however I'm not sure about the patching state. KDE43 will vanish though in the future since KDE 4.3.4 was the last bugfix release for KDE 4.3 and is available in STABLE. Thanks for the information. Just slithered into this situation. As I wanted to rectify it, I made everything worse after deleting some of the KDE 4.3.180 I had my 11.2 ready for use so I first got that fully up and running before rebuilding the 11.1. With you info about the right repositories I hope to achieve that -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
