[opensuse] administering an MS Windows partition under Linux
Hi all, If I have a dula-boot machine (Linux and Windows) would I have any good tools under Linux that would allow me to look at the content of the Windows boot partition, administer it, clean up the registry, remove viruses if any, etc? The Windows installation seems to be so defective as to be quite useless so I am trying to think of a good strategy for dealing with the situation. Thanks in advance for any and all advice. The same tools you use for the linux partitions: mount them, look at them.
administer it,
Define "administer".
clean up the registry,
No way (AFAIK)
remove viruses if any, etc?
Use any antivirus that runs in linux, like "antivir" from Avira GmbH, for example. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Thanks Carlos! I will look into "antivir", that's a good idea. Boris. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Try; http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-14-en--BitDefender-Free-Edition.html http://www.knoppix.org/ Version 5.1 has virus scanning abilities, I believe.
