Hola all. The ongoing saga of this silicon image thing. New question. Can anyone think of a reason modprobe cannot see the sii6512.o file when I try to load it?. Already eliminated these possible errors: I don't include the ".o" or the preceeding path in the modprobe command. The module file in question matches the kernel version (can happily insmod it) It is in the /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/scsi/ directory But modprobe seems utterly unable to see it despite seeing the other files in the same directory. Any ideas? Cheers Jeff Jones

Have you run "depmod -a" before trying to load it? Jeffrey
*Ahem* Yes that would be it. Modprobe finds it now, thank you very much.
Now to add a runlevel script to laod the module and mount the drives, much
thanks.
