Hi Folks I downloaded Netscape 4.73 this morning from one of the German Mirrors, and was rather disappointed to see that only International security (40 bit) is provided. It was my understanding that 4.73 was released with full 128 bit security. In addition Fortify has frozen development, at Netscape 4.72, so I can't upgrade the program, as 4.73 is not recognised. Any suggestions (apart from reinstalling 4.72....which I have already done) Regards Brian -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hi! 128 bit version is available *ONLY* from US mirrors and even that *ONLY* via http so you shoud fire up netscape (whichever version you may have) and go to http://download.netscape.com and select the last 128 bit version. (I have 128bit glibc2 4.73 so they can be downloaded). Good Luck Bostjan * On 02-06-00 at 16:29 Brian Galbraith (bgalbraith@penguinpowered.com) wrote: +----Here quoted text begins----+

Thanks for the info...however as I have had problems compiling Netscape in the past I would prefer to use a SuSE rpm. Can anyone direct me to a SuSE site/mirror which definately has the 128 bit version. Its a long download just to discover it is the wrong one. You can compile Mozilla, but you cannot compile Netscape. It is already compiled, and the source is not distributed. -david -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Probably you meant downloading the binary. There is no 128 bit RPM. You get it only from Netscape's site. There are two versions at their site, a supported one and an unsupported one, both have worked fine for me. Just install it on top of the SuSE version. You'll end up with a bunch of files with extension .old, remove them if you wish.
