openSUSE (yes, it's a small o) uses the go-oo.org version of OpenOffice.org, which is always released a short time after OOo releases a new version. AFAIK they plan to release the 3.1 version in a week or so and then it'll probably be available for openSUSE through the Buildservice/communityrepos too :)

Unfortunately, the Go-oo 3.1 version is delayed by two weeks after the upstream. We did too many changes this time... I hope that the OOo-3.1 packages will appear in the OpenOffice.org:STABLE repository the following week. In the meantime, you might try the OOo-3.1-rc1 packages from the OpenOffice.org:UNSTABLE repository, see also http://lizards.opensuse.org/category/desktop/openofficeorg/ Heh, http://www.opensuse.org/ is down right now, so some links, from the announce, are not readable.
