Re: [opensuse] News on SUPER (experimental SUSE 10.0 project)
jukka.ylonen@gmail.com >>> 2005/9/20, Andreas Girardet <agirardet@novell.com>: Hello openSUSE team
1.) Klik
Simon, the klik developer, has created several KLIK packages for SUSE 10.0. I am currently myself enjoying it greatly. We have integrated KLIK into the SLICK iso. Please provide feedback to Simon on:
http://www.opensuse.org/SUPER_KLIK
2.) New Stats
http://www.opensuse.org/SUPER_standard_benchmark
I updated the stats with the final release rc4. I have contacted Con Kolivas to update his patchset for the RC4 kernel. He has posted a patchset for rc1 a few days back and I would think that it could well be that Con himself might maintain the -ck patches for SLICK/SUPER. That is very exciting! I update the stats as soon as Con has created the final rc4 patches.
3.) SLICK
A first iso for SLICK is available shortly. I am currently uploading it to the server and it should be available from http://www.opensuse.org/1_CD_install in the next 2-3 hours. It contains KLIK and some rpm's not found in the OSS release like Kynaptic as package manager, integrating Eberhard's fantastic gwdg.de apt repositories (packman, Guru and so on) and also contains several of
in the same directory the
features described in http://www.opensuse.org/SLICK . Anyone interested in developing things further please download it once it is uploaded and provide feedback to Matt or myself.
NOTE: If you are a graphic artist wanting to help us create a SLICK look and feel, plese contact Matt or myself as we need icons, wallpapers and bootscreens for SLICK.
4.) accounts on opensuse.linux.co.nz
Until such a time when developers will get access to the official opensuse build servers and server to upload their goodies, I am happy to offer to anyone who wants to actively contribute to SUSE or SLICK access to a dedicated server I set up on opensuse.linux.co.nz. If you would like to contribute and have your own webspace, please let me know.

Hi! I downloaded SLICK from this address: ftp://opensuse.linux.co.nz/pub/SUPER/iso/super-SLICK-RC1-20050920-modified-kde.iso Installation failed just before initial reboot. I'd like to check iso file before trying a new download - where I can find a checksum for it? -Jukka --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-help@opensuse.org
