[opensuse] Folder Tree on Dolphin
I've been playing with KDE 4 in a VirtualBox openSUSE 11 session. I was trying to get the file manager to show my folders in a right-pane and folders/files in a left pane similar to Konqueror or Explorer. In addition, I want the left pane to follow the right pane in terms of when I'm traversing a folder tree. I can't seem to get this in Dolphin. http://www.perfectreign.com/stuff/2008/20081026_dolphin_files.png I can make two windows but they're completely unaware of each other. It is sort of like Midnight Commander. In Konqeror and in Vista I have the left pane controlling the right one. (An added bonus in Vista is that the right one also controls the left.) http://www.perfectreign.com/stuff/2008/20081026_konqueror_files.png http://www.perfectreign.com/stuff/2008/20081026_vista_files.png How do I do this in Dolphin, since I assume I'll be moving to it soon? -- kai www.filesite.org || www.perfectreign.com Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it. - Dee Hock -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Try View -> Panels -> Folders or Just hit F7. If I'm understanding the question correctly this should give you what you want. -- Regards Scott Newton -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

One wonders why that isn't the default, since it is the most common and most preferred layout on every platform. -- ----------JSA--------- Someone stole my tag line, so now I have this rental. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Probably the same reason the GIMP folks still insist on an SDI layout. -- k -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
