Hello Vishal. It does happen wit each user. I can boot in rescue mode. How do I examine the permission of bash and .rc files ?. I have tried to log in as root with the same result. But maybe it wasn't what you meant ?. Sorry for answering without your mail in here, but I answer you from another computer. I received your reply on the sick computer running Windows :-) Erik Jakobsen. Erik Jakobsen.
Hi Erik, after you are in rescue mode.. mount the filesystems then check what is in your error primarily indicates that you could have two problems a.Your bash does not have the exec mode i.e cd /bin ; ls -l bash -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 477132 2002-09-09 12:07 bash if it does not have the above mentioned permissions $ chmod 755 bash b. The other possibility is that some command in the bash.bashrc or in your users .bashrc is not present...or has been accidently removed.. or the file systems containing that command is not getting mounted.. Let me know where you stand on the same eja@urbakken.dk wrote:
