[opensuse] openSUSE 13.2 also in the cloud
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Today, just a little while ago, openSUSE 13.2 was released. As we were not certain we were going to make it there is no mention of images in the public cloud in the news (https://news.opensuse.org/2014/11/04/opensuse-13-2-green-light-to-freedom/) . Well we made it in Amazon EC2 and GCE. Here are the AMI IDs for Amazon: PV images us-east-1: ami-9a2fa0f2 us-west-2: ami-19793129 us-west-1: ami-01c9de44 eu-west-1: ami-7e9f3509 eu-central-1: ami-2cc0f631 ap-northeast-1: ami-a9ecd3a8 ap-southeast-1: ami-ac7d5efe ap-southeast-2: ami-dd1d72e7 sa-east-1: ami-111aad0c HVM images us-east-1: ami-7e30bf16 us-west-2: ami-01753d31 us-west-1: ami-dff3e49a eu-west-1: ami-3a6cc64d eu-central-1: ami-10cef80d ap-northeast-1: ami-35dde234 ap-southeast-1: ami-b44063e6 ap-southeast-2: ami-951778af sa-east-1: ami-df18afc2 In gce the image is named opensuse-13-2-v20141104 and is found in the opensuse storage location. Azure will take a little while longer as it takes more time to upload and distribute to the many regions but the image is built and we are testing it. I hope it will show up in the Azure gallery by the end of the week at the latest. great so everyone knows you downloaded it. How about just using bittorent and cut amazon out of the picture, or just ftp it and use a mirror... Is it so hard now to get an iso for the internet now? On Tue, Nov 04, 2014 at 10:43:10AM -0500, Robert Schweikert wrote:

No I did not. Almost everyone knows ;) that images are built in the build service and no iso download is needed to build an image.

Amazon is not in the picture of downloading the ISO, sorry you appear to be misunderstanding the concept here. The images listed in my first post are ready to run openSUSE installations in Amazon EC2.
Is it so hard now to get an iso for the internet now?
I don't think it is, I downloaded the openSUSE 13.2 x86_64 iso image just a little while ago with no issues. It's a bit slower than usual, but that is to be expected on release day. Anyway, the images in Amazon and GCE have nothing to do with the ISO image download. Yes the work image is certainly overloaded but nere the less one is completely disconnected from the other. Ruben, Robert was not very clear. These are images designed to RUN on the Amazon cloud and/or the Google Compute Engine infrastructure respectively. They are not meant to be downloaded by end-users nor to run on end-user owned computers.. Greg -- Greg Freemyer On Tue, Nov 4, 2014 at 11:18 AM, Ruben Safir <ruben@mrbrklyn.com> wrote:
