Hello
I'm reposting this because I can't find a problem...
I tried to upgrade my kernel from 2.2.14 to 2.2.16 (SuSE 6.4) with RPM's from the SuSE site, using the procedure I found there...
rpm -Uhv k_deflt.rpm mk_initrd --> says there's not need to do so....
run lilo and reboot...
But still, my old kernel comes up...
What's going wrong????
Kind regards
Guy

Sure:
# LILO Konfigurations-Datei
# End LILO global Section # image = /boot/vmlinuz-exp root = /dev/hda3 label = linux
# image = /boot/vmlinuz root = /dev/hda3 label = oldlinux
Your newly installed dflt kernel gets installed as vmlinuz, and your vmlinuz-exp is listed first, so it is the default. Switch vmlinuz to the first entry, or hit tab at the lilo prompt, and enter linux, instead of oldlinux.

Or, add a tag before your kernel lists being like the following default = vmlinuz
then no matter where in the list (first or last) it's the one that is the default.
