Re: [SLE] XFree86-3.3.6 and Intel 810e video chipset
Danged if I didn't find the answer -
For anyone else who needs it:
you need to install a new Xserver driver provided by
intel and compile a new agpgart.o module, also
provided by intel. I'm now up and running.
find both at

Folks -
I'm in the process of installing suse 6.4 on a relatively new Dell Optiplex box (pIII 500, 128MB RAM, 20 GB EIDE HD, no sound, 3com integrated nic, etc.
All is working fine except I can't configure X. The video is onboard the Intel 810e chipset, and it looks like it is supported by the SVGA xserver. Sax errors, and XF86setup fails. XF86config creates a config file that errors at the ViewPort setting.
Can anyone confirm that this video chipset works with XFree86-3.3.6, and if so, give me a hint as to where to go from here. I couldn't find the chip in the supported hardware database, nothing in the archives, although it looks as though RH claims it should work.
TIA.
