Linux and CompuServe 2000
Hope someone can put this question to rest :) Is my assumption correct that if I subscribe to the Mailing List with my CompuServe address [ leembruggenl@cs.com ] I would in fact automatically shut my Linux distros off from access to the list ? Greetings to all many thanks for the responses.

What I mean is that CompuServe 2000 has its own Microsoft Windows
interface and so far the only way I can read CompuServe mail is from
Microsoft Windows using the CompuServe graphical interface to log-on to
cs.com. Direct dial-up has not been possible via Dialup Networking.

Before CompuServe 2000's
it was possible to log-on to CompuServe via Dialup Networking and also from Linux dial-up with correctly set scripts.
It depends. As long as CS's mail server supports POP3, you know it's name/IP and have your username password handy - I cannot see why it shouldn't. If they use some nonstandard protocol / mechanism to fetch mail, dump them. As simple as that. Vote with your $$. Choose an ISP that suits your needs. Juergen
From time to time I receive emails from the <suse-linux-e> List Manager complaining that emails to my freeler.nl address 'bounce' and stating that if this keeps repeating I would be cut off from the list. Hence if one of these days this actually happens I would re-subscribe with the CompuServe address but that would mean unless I can log-on to cs.com from Linux I would have to boot Windows every time I need to get mail from the list ! As regards the 'bounce' I have not the foggiest idea as to what causes this and what I can do about it.
Any solutions welcome and thanks in advance.

Email is email You may be able to configure your email setting so that only one of two email programs delete your mail. This way you can use the other to download it all over agien , thenuse the first to delete it once the other had down loaded them. There are some email programs (older) tyhat will run under wine , so you can use them in linux. Check the wine sght for this.
Greetings to all many thanks for the responses.
