So you are saying that that video capture card works with linux or it is BT787A based this is all because i updated my machine and the inbuilt soundsystem is dire to say the least but not enough PCI slots looks like i will be flogging a Foxcon Motherboard and a Conpro S800 tv card which is a pity cus the S800 would be nice with it;s capabilities

The ones I am aware of are Conexant BT787A, Techwell TW68xx (check for compatibility first, please. This driver isn't in the Kernel, you need to compile it) and the Phillips SAA7130. There's also the Conexant MPEG chips in the WinTV PVR-150 and PVR-500 cards but I couldnt tell you if the MPEG hardware encoding actually works. I have used it in Linux ages ago as a TV tuner. Maybe you can free up a PCI slot with a USB sound adapter? Also please send your replies to the list. I know the list is broken, so you might have to hit reply-all. -- Med Vennlig Hilsen, A. ok well i am going to try an Asus Tv card shortly that is along the same lines as the S800 but i want to find what the chip is first so it may be a word in the ear of Asus to find out

Have to admit i do not like all this stuff hung off the USB i believe it all belongs inside the case out the way less wires less clutter and i believe also better sound
Also please send your replies to the list. I know the list is broken, so you might have to hit reply-all. Ahh that would be because i replied to the one sent to me and n ot the one sent to the list this is using "reply to list" in Kmail normally works correctly
Of course what would solve the problem is a flexible PCI port extender to allow me to get at the PCI slot burried by the cooler on the Video card and bring it out and round the Tv card into the clear to the 2 unused slots in the backplane where i could hang the Soundcard but it would need to be very flexible Ahh well it's all good fun (not) Pete . -- Powered by openSUSE 11.3 (x86_64) Kernel: 2.6.34.7-0.7-desktop KDE Development Platform: 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 3" 08:00 up 1 day 14:06, 3 users, load average: 0.42, 0.15, 0.05 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
