RE: [SLE] $PATH variable in SUSE
you should use the setDefautJava and setJava scripts (SuSE v8.1). They work well and instructions on how to use them are in /etc/java -----Original Message----- From: Charles Philip Chan [mailto:cpchan@sympatico.ca] Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 2:27 PM To: cjereme@ucla.edu; suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] $PATH variable in SUSE -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On January 16, 2003 02:45 pm, cjereme@ucla.edu wrote:
which file do i have to modify so that everyone will have the same customized $PATH?
/etc/profile.local
I also tried modifying JAVA_HOME ... with the newer JRE but I got errors that said "Couldn't find java, javac etc"
Easiest way is to symlink your java's lib directory to /usr/lib/java Charles -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+JxWS3epPyyKbwPYRAiEsAJ9vfYg0mGT4zhKPgnXTM4ZZMzok+wCfQ5Rh kUxtRvJmgPBGRMcrDVZ0iB8= =ykTC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
