fstab entry to mount win partition correctly
Hi all, I'm trying to mount a windows partition to have rw access to it. The only way I managed to get the "w" access is by adding my uid to the fstab entry: /dev/hda1 /windows/C vfat auto,user,uid=500,guid=100 0 0 However now it is only this user which has rw access. I can't get the group to get "rw", the group always gets only read access. I would prefer to have the a group, for example "disk" having the rw rights. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any hint! Matt T.

The option is "gid" not "guid".

Try "gid=6,umask=007". regards Anders -- `When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, `it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither more nor less.'

oops, that's why it had no effect. That is how a "u" can make you loose many hours...

Yes, that does it! THANKS, Matt T.
