Hi You should look at using handbrake to errr make backup copies in your required format, then use those instead of the DVD.
Hi,
That's a stopgap at best. And why should I be able to copy the DVD when I can't play it ? Or should I copy it on a different machine ? No, I hope to be able to play them as they are.
But thanks for the suggestion and for the mentioning of a program I didn't know.
Regards,
Koenraad Lelong
Hi handbrake is compiled with all the necessary codecs, add libdvdcss and if it can be read, it should convert. -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) Kernel 3.7.10-1.1-desktop up 9:29, 3 users, load average: 0.15, 0.06, 0.06 CPU Intel® i5 CPU M520@2.40GHz | GPU Intel® Ironlake Mobile -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi, I decided to give it a try, to have more information. Unfortunately, I seem unable to find a rpm for it for OS12.3. Do you have a link to a compiled package ? On Packman I found the src.rpm, but there I have some dependencies I can't find in yast. I'm setting up a virtual machine I can mess with so I don't screw up the actual machine. Handbrake is not yet in the packman 12.3 repo but if you download the rpm from packman's 12.2 they work ok in 12.3. Don't connect up the 12.2 repo just download them from the packman website and use sudo rpm -Uhv <handbrake rpms> there are two rpm the cli and gtk interface The purists will tell you not to do it and wait for packman to catch up and they are right of course but i want it NOW :) Andrew -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

This cropped up in the -de and the packman ML as well, so I took a shot. So, as of lateish last night (UTC) handbrake-0.9.8-2.x is now available for 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, Tumbleweed and Factory (the x at the end is currently 1 but changing libs might cause rebuilds later). Feel free to CC me if anything is broken (esp. on 12.1 and 12.2) with the new -2.x revision that includes the patches and stuff for >= 12.3. Have a lot of fun, -dnh -- God must love the Common Man; He made so many of them. -- BSD fortune file -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
