
Ok, just installed 8.0 - and very please overall. However, in 7.3 and earlier one had, by default, access to the windows partitions in linux, and this was both on the desktop and in fstab. Now there is no sign of any windows partitions. For instance, there used to be /dev/hda1 Windows C drive - now nothing and the /dev/hda3, hda5, for D and E, etc.... are gone, not in fstab - though these weren't overwritten or formated (and though I haven't booted into windows I am assuming that they are still intact and functioning). Now, might someone tell me how to find out the devices and there parameters so I can configure fstab to read these partitions. TIA, Curtis

Have a look at the output of fdisk -l Also try manually mounting them (the partition type should get detected) e.g.: mount /dev/hda1 /mnt On Fri, 26 Apr 2002, Curtis Rey wrote:
