again-anyone solve Epson perfection 2540 problem??
I have done all the things recommended here..but none seem to address ver 10. It sees the scanner, but keeps trying to config a scsi connection (I think) rather than a USB. I think you mean the 2450 Perfection Photo model, right? I understand the scanner works nicely under 9.2 on another machine? So it would seem it's something introduced in 10.0, if I understand things correctly. regards, Lee

I think you mean the 2450 Perfection Photo model, right? I understand the scanner works nicely under 9.2 on another machine? So it would seem it's something introduced in 10.0, if I understand things correctly.

If you do mean the 2450, I suggest VueScan Software at: http://www.hamrick.com/ I use it with the 4870 and it works very well. The 2450 is listed as a supported model - but I have never used it. Warning, this isn't free software ($49.95) but I think it's worth it. Rich

Thanks, but I don't need scanning software...the scanner works with xscan & gimp in 9.2 BUT not in 10 because it can not be installed, there for nothing will work with it. That is the problem & is recognized as a short coming in SuSE 10. That is the problem & is recognized as a short coming in SuSE 10. That's why I asked if anyone has found a work around.
